Habitat for Humanity of Orange County is dedicated to ending substandard housing and building strong communities in Orange County. We partner with local businesses, community organizations, faith communities, cities and volunteers to build simple decent homes which are sold to qualified families for closing costs, 1% down payment, and a long-term mortgage.

Gordon's House Walls built at Episcopal Convention - in the Anaheim Convention Center!
Over 200 volunteers, adults and youth, have built and raised the wall frames at the Episcopal Convention in Anaheim. The Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles is sponsoring and raising funds for the home that will be constructed in Westminster. Habitat for Humanity International CEO Jonathan Reckford joined Bishop Jon Bruno in hammering nails and supporting the hardworking volunteers. View the Orange County Register Article for more. First 4 Homes Dedicated in San Juan Capistrano!
Amid smiles, cheers and tears, the Balderas, Fuentes, Abreu and Morales families attained their dream of home ownership Friday. Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity, International joined the event and presided as each family received their home keys, a bible and mortgage documents in a joyous dedication celebration at our San Juan Capistrano development. Fourteen of the 27 homes in the Habitat for Heroes and Foundations for Families™ development are being marketed to combat disabled veterans. One of the military families, the Morales', celebrated together even though they are half a world apart. Joe Morales, on his 4th tour in Iraq, joined the celebration via webcam. An old-fashioned Wallraising --- the 9th Home in San Juan Now Under Construction
July 10, 2009 -- An old fashioned wall raising began on our 9th home in the Habitat for Heroes and Foundations for Families™ neighborhood in San Juan Capistrano. Along with local Habitat for Humanity of Orange County volunteers, and Thrivent Financial members, Habitat for Humanity International CEO Jonathan Reckford welcomed the Keyte family to the build site as they began their 500 hours of "sweat equity", a major milestone on their journey to homeownership. Habitat for Heroes and Foundations for Families: Five Homes under construction! Disabled Veterans and Surviving Families Invited to Apply
Disabled veterans and Surviving Families: Learn more to apply for homeownership. Orientation meetings are held at 7:00pm on the 2nd Monday of every other month at the Ocean Hills Church, 32222 Del Obispo, San Juan Capistrano, 92675.
Fourteen of the homes are being marketed to disabled veterans and their families or surviving families of soldiers killed in action. Requirements include legal residence in the US and a steady income between 30% & 80% of the median income in Orange County. The entire community will consist of 13 sets of paired homes and one single-family home. Eleven of the homes can be designed to fully comply with ADA standards. Discount Home Improvement Centers! Promoting Reuse and Recycling
In an effort to raise funds while conserving resources, we now have two ReStore Discount Home Improvement Centers. Please visit our Santa Ana and Garden Grove locations for all of your home improvement and construction needs at discounted prices. Habitat ReStores sell useable and surplus building materials to the public, using the proceeds to fund Habitat home construction in Orange County By using and re-using materials efficiently, Habitat is encouraging good stewardship of both Habitat's resources and the earth's resources. As a result, this supports resource efficiency while helping Habitat build more homes.
